A recently published paper by the Hearing Research Lab of the ARTORG Center and the Inselspital ENT Department has made the cover of the current print edition of Hearing Research.
The front page of this highest ranked journal in the areas of ENT and Audiology depicts a head and torso simulator with several head-mounted microphones, as used in the study.
Hearing aid or hearing implant users find it challenging to understand their conversational partner in noisy environments because current audio processors still insufficiently allow them to focus on specific sound sources. In their study, the researchers from the Hearing Research Laboratory (HRL) at the University of Bern and the Inselspital are suggested that artificial intelligence could solve this problem.
